Initiation of an inventory control system when the demand starts at a given time

چکیده
This paper considers a single-echelon, continuous review, inventory system with a warehouse facing compound Poisson customer demand. The replenishment lead-time is constant. Demand that cannot be met directly is backordered. There are standard linear holding and backorder costs but no set-up or ordering cost. It is assumed that the demand process starts at a certain given time. Consequently, before the demand starts, the lead-time demand is lower than in steady state. This affects the optimal ordering policy. We derive the optimal ordering policy under these assumptions. & 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Deriving the Exact Cost Function for a Two-Level Inventory System with Information Sharing
In this paper we consider a two-level inventory system with one warehouse and one retailer with information exchange. Transportation times are constant and retailer faces independent Poisson demand. The retailer applies continuous review (R,Q)-policy. The supplier starts with m initial batches (of size Q), and places an order to an outside source immediately after the retailer’s inventory posit...
متن کاملQueueing Inventory System in a Two-level Supply Chain with One-for-One Ordering Policy
Consider a two-level inventory system consisting of one supplier and one retailer. The retailer faces a Poisson demand with a known rate and applies base stock (one-for-one ordering) policy. That is, his inventory position is set to a pre-determined level, so the demand pattern is transferred exactly to the supplier. The supplier has an inventory system and a service unit with exponentially dis...

This paper deals with an i * Corresponding author Email address: nventory system with one central warehouse and a number of identical retailers. We consider perishable-on-the-shelf items; that is, all items have a fixed shelf life and start to age on their arrival at the retailers. Each retailer faces Poisson demand and employs (1, T) inventory policy. Although demand not met at a retai...
متن کاملRetailer’s replenishment and pricing decisions for non-instantaneous deterioration and price-dependent demand
Abstract In this research, an integrated inventory model for non-instantaneous deteriorating items is analyzed when demand is sensitive to changes in price. The price used in this research is a time-dependent function of the initial selling price and the discount rate. To control the deterioration rate of items at the storage...
متن کاملA New Inventory Model for Deteriorating Items with Price-dependent Demand, Time-value of money, and Shortages
This paper presents a discounted cash-flow approach to an inventory model for deteriorating items with the two-parameter Weibull distribution. According to our proposed model, two shortages are considered: back-orders and lost-sales, in which the back-order rate is a varying function of the time when the shortage happens. In general, the demand rate is a linear function of the selling price...
